Up for sale is this 1983 Hardinge HLV-H-EM Tool Room lathe. This machine was purchased new and was used in a home machine shop. This is a late model lathe that has many desirable features such as hardened and ground cross slide way inserts, teflon carriage coating, 7″ wide flame hardened & ground lathe bed, Hardinge 4 degree taper lock spindle and much more.
This is the rare english/metric version of this machine and so it will do metric threading in addition to all the dials having metric and english graduations on them.
This is a clean machine and the paint is original. The only flaw on the machine is some of the paint has cracking which is only cosmetic. The way wipers have been replaced and are brand new and the bed plate is in very nice condition. This machine is under power and can be run and tested on site. The spindle is whisper quiet even at full speed of 3000 RPM. The gearbox shifts easily and functions as it should. The DC motor power feed works well and all apron clutches function as they should. The factory coolant nozzle is included and the pump functions as well. Included with this are many Hardinge brand 5C collets. Lathe includes a Buck 3 jaw chuck, factory Hardinge 4 position turret tool post, Hardinge dial indicator carriage stop with Mitutoyo 2 inch dial indicator, metric change gear bracket with gears, & Service and Owners manuals. The Factory coolant & chip splash guard is not shown but it is included.
