Up for sale is this Rare South Bend Heavy Ten Toolroom engine lathe (10L). This is a very late model unit and from what I can find it was made in the late 1990’s. This has all of the desirable options that everyone is looking for when buying one of these machines. This is the original color, it has not been re-painted. The machine came out of a Community College and is in nice shape. This machine is wired for 208V three phase but with a simple variable frequency drive (VFD) one could run this on 240V single phase power. The current motor is a 2 speed version with a fast and slow speed at the flip of a switch. The hardened ways on this machine are in perfect condition with no wear or dings. The machine comes with the accessories shown, one note is that the 3 jaw chuck needs a new backing plate to work with the camlock spindle, currently it has a threaded spindle mount. This machine is already on a skid and I will build a skeleton crate around it for freight shipment, please ask for a quote.
